Set Beautiful FreeFor Maheka who endorses a number of charitable causes, it was a pleasure to be the style partner for 'Set Beautiful Free' when actor Vivek Oberoi requested her to design clothes for young girls who have been rescued from red light areas. Along with these girls Maheka also designed ensembles for iconic women like actor Madhuri Dixit Nene, boxer Mary Kom and MD Axis Bank Shikha Sharma who accompanied the girls on the stage. The First Lady of Maharashtra Amruta Fadnavis also donned a Maheka creation as she performed a medley of Bollywood songs. |
![]() Maheka Mirpuri has initiated a fight against cancer by setting up a charitable foundation at the Tata Memorial hospital (TMH) for providing financial assistance to the underprivileged towards cure for cancer as a whole and Head & Neck cancer in particular. Christened MCan foundation, this charitable foundation was kicked off with a grand charity gala and fund raiser. The designer, who lost her father and brother-in-law to cancer in the span of just one year, set up this charitable foundation in their memory. |

Punjabi Icon AwardHonoring her achievements over the decades as one of the pioneers in Fashion whose work is widely appreciated, the Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board (PCHB), an organization of prominent Sikhs & Punjabis of Mumbai and Maharashtra, selected MahekaMirpuri for the prestigious "Punjabi Icon Award" 2013 in the "Women Achievers" category. |
TheatreMahekaMirpuri has been constantly diversifying her creative talents. Another accomplishment for the designer has been her foray into theatre. The designer was approached by theatre maverick RaellPadamsee to design costumes for her mega project ‘Unfaithfully Yours’ wherein Maheka was assigned the job of designing the looks for actor Mona Singh. |
Save the TigerMaheka believes that it is imperative that voices that can be heard, people who can make a difference should support causes such as Save the Tiger in order to create a far reaching impact. At the Lakme Fashion Week 2013, Maheka was invited to be a part of this Project wherein her creation was shortlisted from a total of 140 designs and showcased on the runway. |
Mukti FoundationSomeone who sincerely believes in purposeful causes, Maheka associated with Smita Thackeray’s Mukti Foundation in order to donate proceeds from the sale of her collection to HIV infected people. |
Make A Wish FoundationMaheka recently was invited to be a part of Make-a-wish-foundation’s charity event wherein she was the only talent who created 2 pieces for auction – a 4 feet tall hand painted fibre teddy as well as a 14ct gold brooch teddy. |
